Dan leads fundraising, communications, and strategic partnerships at City Kids Wilderness Project, where he has helped expand the organization’s reach and impact since joining in 2019. He began as Development Manager, advanced to Associate Director of Development and Communications, and now serves as Director, overseeing grant writing, major donor relationships, corporate partnerships, events, and storytelling. Across more than six years, he has built fundraising systems designed to deepen donor relationships rather than simply process gifts, helping raise and steward more than $12 million in philanthropic support.
Before City Kids, Dan served as Major Gifts Officer at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC, following fundraising roles at theatre companies in Philadelphia and Northeast Ohio. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University, and his background in theatre continues to shape how he approaches fundraising: as creative, story-driven work grounded in genuine human connection.
Outside of work, Dan is a father who loves being outdoors with his family, whether that means camping around the DMV, cycling through Rock Creek Park and along the C&O Canal, or heading out for a run. He enjoys roasting coffee, is a long-time Arsenal supporter, and loves a good bagel.
