Taylore Willis
Director of Programs, DC
Taylore is from Prince George’s County, Maryland, and is excited to join City Kids Wilderness Project as the Director of Programs DC! She’s bringing to City Kids a diverse professional background ranging from positions at non-profit environmental education organizations nationwide to multiple state governments. Most recently Taylore served as the Assistant Park Manager at Mason Neck State Park in Lorton, VA where her responsibilities included managing public programs, personnel, and property.
As Director of Programs DC, Taylore hopes to improve curriculum cohesion amongst the various cohorts, establish and maintain community program partnerships, and overall ensure that youth participants at City Kids continue to learn new skills, develop personally and professionally, and most of all have fun!Taylore holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Biology and Psychology from Stevenson University. In addition, she’s completed numerous professional development courses including Aquatic WILD, Growing Up WILD, The Food Project Winter Institute, and Adult Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to name a few.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling internationally, entering (and winning!) contests, exploring botanical gardens, indoor and outdoor rock climbing, flatwater kayaking, river tubing, and hiking. Some of her favorite local-ish outdoor locations are Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary, Natural Bridge State Park, and The National Arboretum. Taylore is eager to get going as a member of the City Kids Team. When you have the opportunity to meet her, ask her to share a joke. Telling silly jokes and winning contests are Taylore’s little-known superpowers.
