The City Kids Journey
As a grantee of Vail Resort and the Katz Amsterdam Foundation’s Epic for Everyone Youth Connection to Winter Sports Program, City Kids was thrilled to participate in this effort to expand youth access to snow sports for our second year.
Snow Club at City Kids
A City Kids counselor followed the four-year journey of a group of boys as they returned each summer since they were 6th graders. Told through the voices of the boys as they grow up, they share a remarkable appreciation for our wild places and one another.
Endless Summer
Session 2 of Summer Camp at Broken Arrow Ranch in Jackson, WY. These 6th grade boys from Washington, DC had an amazing two weeks of outdoor adventures, team building, and fun in the Tetons.
New Beginnings
City Kids Wilderness Project’s mission is to build resiliency, broaden horizons, cultivate community, and develop skills for success in DC youth through a long-term, cohort-based model that utilizes both the wilderness and urban environment to encourage growth. City Kids aims to inspire youth to use their personal power to shape the future of their own lives and change in the greater community.
A world where individuals, communities, and systems evolve to create a bright, inclusive, and just future for all youth. A community of cohesion and allyship where youth have the support they need to develop into confident young adults who are aware of their personal power.
In the past three years, over 90% of participants showed meaningful gains in one or more core Social Emotional Learning (SEL) capacities that contribute to academic success, career readiness, and long-term well-being.
