City Kids Wilderness Project Annual Report 2020-2021
Twenty five years ago, City Kids opened its doors with a mission to use outdoor spaces to spark inspiration, provide practical life skills, instill self confidence, and offer opportunities that push DC-based youth to explore their sense of personal possibility. How we deliver the mission has evolved over time, however, the connection City Kids youth have with each other and the natural spaces around them is more important and relevant than ever.
We are deeply grateful to the #CKCommitted community for the time, talents, gifts, and diverse perspectives that continue to enrich and support the organization and those in it. We are so proud to have served more than 500 youth since our founding in 1996 and, despite the challenges of the past year, have arrived at this moment a sound and thriving organization. We couldn’t have done it without YOU!
We are excited to share our 2020/2021 Annual Report, a look back at our programmatic efforts over the last year. It goes without saying that we are all professional “zoomers” by now, and we are in awe of the resilience City Kids participants have shown during this time of separation and distance. Thank you to our youth and families for their constant feedback and commitment to the CK journey during the pandemic.
