New City Kids Staff Members

The Summit Newsletter

As we start the new year, we are fortunate to be joined by several new staff members. Starting with the Director of Development and Communications, Katie Guerin. Katie is an experienced nonprofit development and communications specialist. She has spent over a decade working with nonprofits in the areas of health, outdoor recreation, historic preservation, and conservation. Before joining City Kids, Katie worked for national nonprofit, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy for seven years. She is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising and communications program to support City Kids’ mission.

We are also excited to welcome Dan Ebert, Development Manager, to the Development team. Dan will be working a lot with our mid-level donors and managing our fundraising campaigns. He is joining us from the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington D.C. where he spent three years, most recently as the Major Gifts Officer. Dan has a long history of working in the arts and has been a warm addition to our team.

Last month, Rosy Garibay joined the team as the Program Manager for the Ranger and Mountaineer Program. She oversees the after school program during the school year, outdoor weekend trips and summer camp programming. She has travelled to the Kayapo village of A’Ukre in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest as well as to the Mayan pueblo of Xculoc in Campeche Mexico as a photography intern for anthropological research, then moved to Utah to become an outdoor instructor in wilderness therapy for adolescents.

Lastly, Priya Cook returned to City Kids as the Alumni Engagement & Success Partner after four years of leading the Cities Connecting Children to Nature initiative at the National League of Cities’ Institute for Youth, Education, and Families. She served formerly as Middle School Programs Director for City Kids, and has tackled equity in public education, policy, and outdoor youth development along the Texas-Mexico border, in interior Alaska, and for the past ten years in DC.
