Welcome New CK Staff Victor and Arii!

The Summit Newsletter

Victor Medina – Ranger & Mountaineer Program Manager

Victor Medina comes to City Kids from Groundwork Hudson Valley where, as the Youth Programs Manager, he worked to inspire youth to take on conservation challenges and cultivate a relationship with the natural spaces in their communities. His passion for the outdoors developed through a youth program with the Nature Conservancy that would change his understanding and relationship with natural wilderness spaces.

Since then, Victor’s travel has taken him from the concrete jungle of New York City, to the icy peaks of the Andes, and open waters of the Galapagos Islands. He understands, firsthand, the impact that programs like those at City Kids can have on young adults.

As Program Manager for the Rangers and Mountaineers, Victor looks to provide transformative experiences for DC youth through immersive experiences that challenge them to grow, work as a team, and become the leaders of the future.

Victor holds a B.A. in Geography, Globalization, and Urban Studies and Planning as well as a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Albany. In addition, Victor holds a certificate in Community Leadership and Social Change from Tisch College at Tufts University.

Arii Sylvers – Program Associate

After serving in several part-time at City Kids capacities over the last four years, we are excited to welcome Arii Sylvers to the organization as a full-time, at the new Program Associate. In this role, Arii is responsible for providing support to camper program managers, Elite & Leadership youth participants, and the program team.

Arii identified her passion for youth development while minoring in secondary education at Howard University in Washington, DC. Since 2018, Arii has served as a Summer Camp staff member, Afterschool Educator, JET Summer Camp staff member, and a Weekend Trip Instructor, giving her a well-rounded view of City Kids programming and CK youth.

In her spare time, Arii enjoys camping, reading, and playing volleyball.
