City Kids Receives Support from Diversify Whitewater

We’re thrilled to share that City Kids Wilderness Project has received a grant from Diversify Whitewater in support of our Leadership cohort’s whitewater kayaking experience this summer in Jackson, Wyoming.
Water is woven into the fabric of the City Kids experience. Across their years in our program, youth paddle canoes through Grand Teton National Park and along the Potomac, explore sea kayaking in Yellowstone and South Carolina, and navigate the rapids of the Snake River on whitewater rafts. Each summer builds new skills, deeper confidence, and a lasting connection to the wild places that shape them.
For our most experienced campers, the journey culminates in their fourth summer with a four-day whitewater kayaking progression on the Snake River. It’s a milestone that reflects years of growth, trust, and grit, and it’s made possible by partners who believe in expanding access to paddle sports for young people who have historically been left out of them.
We’re grateful to Diversify Whitewater for joining us in that work.
This program is supported by Diversify Whitewater (DW), a nonprofit organization supporting inclusion & belonging in paddle sports. Please consider supporting DW through our fiscal sponsor, American Whitewater, by clicking this link and adding ‘FOR DW’ in the ‘Additional Comments’ section.
