Fight for Children Partnership
City Kids is one of the newest members of the Fight For Children Youth Development Institute. This is the DC region’s first youth sports collaborative and will enable City Kids to connect with other organizations working to leverage sports and experiential education programs to improve the lives of DC youth. As a member of the Institute, City Kids will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with 26 other member organizations working in youth sports, apply for funding, leverage research and evaluation tools, and be part of a broader group advocating for increased funding to drive public policy changes related to youth experiential education.
Worships and webinars for the collaborative are well underway and City Kids staff have had the opportunity to leverage a wealth of resources through these trainings and convenings. “Being with like-minded organizations has already provided opportunities for collaboration,” said Katie Guerin, City Kids Director of Development and Communications. “I foresee lots of amazing partnerships developing as a result of the Youth Development Institute.”
The partnership was also recently highlighted in the Washington Business Journal– you can read the article here.
